Riyadh Air Adds Four New South Asian Destinations This Month

  1. Saudi Arabia's new national carrier launched daily Boeing 787-9 service from Riyadh to Mumbai on Aug. 4 and to Dhaka on Aug. 7.
  2. Daily flights to Islamabad begin Aug. 14, with three-times-weekly service to Lahore starting Aug. 16.
  3. The additions grow Riyadh Air's network to nine destinations as it builds toward a stated goal of 22 destinations by March 2027.

Riyadh Air is rolling out four new South Asian routes this month, adding daily 787-9 service to Mumbai, Dhaka, Islamabad and Lahore as the young carrier races to expand its network.

Why it matters

The routes target some of the largest expatriate communities in Saudi Arabia while positioning Riyadh as a new connecting hub between Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

What to watch

Riyadh Air has also secured approval to fly to Beijing, Shanghai and destinations in the U.S., with more route announcements expected as it scales toward serving 100+ cities by decade's end.
